The Flower Prince

Two characters out of a Novel I'm writing about a town where magic folk live. Well, it's more than just the town - they're everywhere - but it's based in the town. And the humans don't know they're there - they just blend in. But, obviously, the stories about the main character being a part of one of the rare families knowing they're there, and hating them because that's what he's been brought up on. Then he meets a girl who protects them, and starts to realise they're just trying to survive like everyone else. That's basically the really REALLY brief explination without ruining anything. These two aren't the main characters, but I think they're cuties, so this is them  They're two of the magic folk - or Crypts as I call them

The one on the left is Cain - he only discovered he was a Crypt about a year back.. He's a Clairvoyant and only discovered that when his brother died when serving overseas Not nice waking up in the night to discover your brothers ghost has come to tell you he's dead. He mainly gets ghosts coming to him asking for help, but his brother wont let go, and is kinda trying to live through him. Telling him who he should date, what he should study, what he should do after school. Being dead means he doesn't sleep, and he gets bored, so poor Cain is kept up all night most nights by his brother rabbiting on. 

The one on the right is Silas. Silas is what I call a Nymphling - his mom was a tree Nymph whilst his dad was human. So Silas is mortal, but can do certain things that Nymphs can, like control plants and trees. Silas works at the coffeeshop that Cain visits each morning for a boost of caffeine before school, to try and keep himself awake. Cain and Silas didn't realise they were both Crypts until they bumped into each other at a gathering for Crypts. They quickly discover that Cain's brother hates Silas. To the point where he actually leaves when Silas is around - not wanting to be around him. Which means Cain can get some peace and quiet when Silas is around. Which means if him and Silas have a sleepover, Cain can get some sleep... when he chooses to

Silas also carries a bag of sunflower seeds in his pockets. Occasionally he likes to drop a few in Cain's hair when he's not looking and make them form a crown around his head. Cain pretends to hate it - mainly because Cain never realises he's doing it and can walk around for hours with a Sunflower crown on his head - but secretly he likes it when Silas calls him his 'Prince'.
